The ship "Libra" with 40 immigrants transferred from Italy, has arrived today at the port of Shëngjin. The people on board will disembark and be escorted by law enforcement to the center of Gjadri, a few kilometers from the city of Lezha. The immigrants are of Tunisian, Egyptian, Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Algerian, Georgian, Nigerian and Moldovan nationality. The immigrants would arrive from the centers of Bari, Turin, Trapani, Gorizia, Milan and Brindisi, reports ATSH, according to KosovaPress. We recall that Albania and Italy have ratified the agreement on immigrants according to which the Italian state will send to Albania the immigrants it catches and rescues in the Mediterranean Sea. The agreement foresees that Albania will host up to 36.000 immigrants for a year in two centers within the country. Opposition parties in Albania and Italy have opposed the agreement. In Albania, the opposition sent the agreement to the Constitutional Court, but the latter rejected it, paving the way for its ratification in the Assembly. The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has supported the agreement, describing it as an important initiative to manage the migration issue.
