If in many cases they have disagreements, such as in the categorization or division of the budget, what is uniting the Ministry of Sports and the Sports Federations is the goal of advancing girls and women in sports. On the occasion of signing the memorandums, the MCYS obliges the federations to dedicate 30 percent of the budget to women and girls, a decision that is being welcomed by the leaders of the federations. The Deputy Minister of Sports, Daulina Osmani, told KosovaPress that this decision is closely related to the global cause of gender equality. The Secretary of the Handball Federation, Muhamet Arifi, declared to KosovaPress that this federation already has about 48 percent women in the entire community involved in the sport of handball in Kosovo. However, there are those who recommend that the percentage of the federations' budget that should be dedicated to women be much higher. Nazmi Gashi, secretary of the Karate Federation, says that considering the great results that girls have achieved in sports, this budget should be up to 70 percent. It should be noted that Kosovo has won gold and silver medals, as well as Balkan, European and world championships in sports such as judo, boxing and karate precisely from girls.
