The former captain of the Albanian national team, Lorik Cana, has emphasized that the decision of the Kosovo players to abandon the match against Romania in the extra minutes was not the right one.

In an exclusive interview for KosovaPress, the former red and black midfielder said that he liked the joint strength of the team in that match as well as respecting the decision of captain Amir Rrahamani, but questioned whether such a decision - to abandon him the match - it would be taken as if Kosovo was winning at those moments.

"I get asked a lot about this job. I do not believe that anything was done willingly, maliciously or in any bad way. When they ask me this question, I ask them another very simple question. If we were 1-0 winning that game, would we have let it go? Take the answer yourself, if we were winning 1-0 in the 93rd minute, would we have left the game? "Most people tell me: 'No, we wouldn't leave it,' and we have the answer," said Cana.

He added that the sight on the field where the whole team supported the decision of captain Amir Rrahmani made him feel extremely good.

Cana also points out with complete conviction that Kosovo does not have a place in League C, but at least one rank higher, in League B.

He has not left without commenting on the poor performance of the Albanian National Team in this edition of the League of Nations, where the Reds and Blacks finished last in the group, with only seven points.

In the match that took place in Bucharest, within the League of Nations, the Kosovo players left the field in the 92nd minute after racist calls from the Romanian fans.

Days ago, the European house of football - UEFA decided that the interrupted match between Kosovo and Romania should go to the Romanians with an official score of 3-0.

Kosovo in the play off to move to League B, will face Iceland in two matches that will take place in March next year.
