Wage increases, capital projects, support for women, energy security and modern weaponry for the army are some of the pledges made by political parties on Tuesday at rallies held with citizens.

The leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement and current Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, spoke from Theranda, where he said that the next mandate will have a superjobs program for women, while he reiterated his commitment to a minimum wage of over 500 euros.

Kurti, among other things, promised that his government in the next mandate will invest 1 billion euros in the Kosovo army. He mentioned the purchase of drones and modern military equipment, as well as the construction of an ammunition factory in the country.

"The mandate we have after February 9, our focus will be precisely on the construction of that Duhël-Banulla highway, and in this way the injustice that has been done to Suhareka will be corrected with these new roads, with this new highway. In Theranda we also have a very important project, and that is the Dragaqina dam project, no one in Kosovo knows the importance of this project better than you, and it will be among the 5 water reservoirs that we will build during the new government in the next mandate. So, Suhareka will be built with both a highway and a new dam, which ensure both sustainability and development", said Kurti.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Party of Kosovo held a rally in Klina where the candidate for prime minister, Bedri Hamza, promised the completion of the highway to Peja.

He said that he will build the new ring road connecting the Klina - Skenderaj and Klina - Istog roads, and promised to make the Klina - Prizren railway line functional.

"Capital projects, I have promised over 6 billion euros for a 4-year mandate, in road, railway infrastructure, water supply, other transformational projects, that will change Kosovo. The road from Pristina to Peja will be finally completed, the Prizren - Klina and Peja - Klina railway lines, which continue towards Kosovo Plain, will be modernized and there will be projects all over Kosovo. We are not the ones who divide, we are the ones who unite", Hamza.

Chairman of the Democratic League and candidate for prime minister, Lumir Abdixhiku, after the rally in Kosovo Polje, said that these elections "are a categorical rejection of the failure of the state."

“The loss of great opportunities and the fading of prospects for young generations are just two of the many lines in the expensive bill of populism. We cannot allow Kosovo to continue to be the last in Europe. For me, and for us in the LDK, these elections are a categorical rejection of the failure of the state, and a bold step towards real change! Because Kosovo can no longer afford failures. We can no longer allow young people to leave the country! The time for change is now. It is time to take the responsibility that belongs to us, to dare and bring the change that citizens deserve. It is time to act for young people who do not want to leave their homeland, for businesses that are looking for opportunities to develop the country, and for every family that deserves a better life”, wrote Abdixhiku on Facebook.

Meanwhile, the president of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and the candidate for prime minister from the Coalition for a Winning Kosovo, from Istog, has spoken about doubling salaries.

"When we talked about doubling salaries, at first they were all scared, now you've seen that they've almost caught up with us, they started with 50, 70 percent, and a few even said XNUMX percent, which would make it a doubling. What did I base my statement on when I said that salaries in Kosovo would double? First, the budget measurements, second, I knew that I had to allocate more money for salaries because there are three pillars where the budget goes, salaries, goods and services, and they're without capital investments, projects. There is a possibility that a large part of our projects will not be invested directly from the budget, we have to return the law on strategic investments, and we have to return the public-private partnership," said Haradinaj.

The election campaign began on January 11. Kosovo citizens will vote on February 9 - in the first regular elections since the declaration of independence in 2008./KosovaPress.
