The Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), Majlinda Bregu, emphasized the importance of related processes for the progress of the region, such as the new Plan for the Western Balkans, the second phase of the Common Regional Market, which was established this year.
During an executive training for the common regional market (CRM) for state officials from the parliaments and ministries of the Western Balkan countries, Bregu emphasized that European integration, regional cooperation and all local agendas are interconnected processes that strengthen each other.
“CRM is a mindset and a process that always brings new things. For this reason, through these four days of intensive training, we wanted to equip everyone with the skills to find the thread that unites all these processes," the announcement states.
The Common Regional Market (CRM) is a framework created by the region and adapted to EU rules and standards, aimed at improving competitiveness, removing barriers and deepening economic integration between the states of the Western Balkans.
"Complementing the EU's Economic and Investment Plan, the CRM serves as a step forward towards the EU's Single Market. Its implementation is done through four-year Action Plans developed by the RCC in cooperation with the administrations of the Six Western Balkans, regional partners and the European Commission. The second phase of the CRM was approved by the leaders of the Six Western Balkans at the Berlin Process Summit in Berlin on October 14, 2024," the announcement said.
