PDK's candidate for prime minister, Bedri Hamza, inaugurated on Monday the new facility of the Main Family Medicine Center in Mitrovica.
Hamza has said that the improvement of medical services has been among his highest priorities.
"Being here with you is a special moment for me. It is a moment that gives me pride, but also determination to continue working like this and to always be at the service of the citizens. The new family medicine center in Mitrovica is not just a simple facility. It is a symbol of the transformation of primary health care in Kosovo and of the fulfillment of the promises we give to our citizens", said Hamza.
He added that this facility that we are promoting today, among other things, best represents our vision for a health system that meets the needs of citizens with dignity and efficiency.
"In these three years, during which we made many important steps, we hired over 100 new professionals to strengthen the health and primary care teams. We built four new family medicine centers in Iliridë, Koshtovë, Frashër and Stan Tërg. We renovated nine medical centers in urban and rural areas. With the experience and successes witnessed in Mitrovica, we are ready to implement this model throughout Kosovo", said Hamza. This center was built as co-financing by the Municipality of Mitrovica and the "Balkan Orphans" association.
The head of this association, Halil Kastrati, said that the centers owe this to the country.
"We owe this country. One day we have not been. Yes, the chairman had a word with me in his office today. This object is said to outlive you and me. I am also telling the chairman: it is very true, but we have gone, but we know that we have left at least something. Mitrovica, enjoy it!", he said.
