A national strike has affected travel to Belgium on January 13. In addition to flights, local, regional and national trains have also been affected.

Public transport was mainly affected, and many schools were closed.

The strike was called against plans for potential pension reforms.

40 percent of flights to and from Brussels Airport are reported to be cancelled. This came after the staff stopped working.

⚠ Due to a national #demonstration & #strike by handlers & security staff on 13/1, airport operations will be disrupted. Several flights will be cancelled/rescheduled, affected passengers will be notified by their airline. Public transport will also be impacted.
