Consumer prices are on average 1.1 percent higher in December 2024, compared to the same period in 2023, monthly inflation was 0.7% in December 2024, while the average annual inflation rate for 2024 is 1.6 percent.

According to the latest data of the Statistics Agency of Kosovo (ASK), consumer prices increased by 0.7 percent in December 2024 compared to November 2024.

The overall harmonized index of consumer prices in the country in 2024 was higher on average by 1.6% compared to 2023.

The increase in prices was observed in flight tickets (10.8%), coffee, tea and cocoa (8%), alcoholic beverages (6.9%), goods and services for the usual maintenance of the household economy (6.5%), financial services (5.8 %), mineral water, soft drinks, fruit and vegetable juices (5.3%), glassware, cutlery and kitchen tools (5.2%), sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and sweets (5.1%), trees (4.8%), newspapers, books and office supplies (4.6%), clothing (4%), personal care (3.7%), electricity (3.4%), solid fuels , firewood, pellets, etc. (3,3%), tobacco (2.7%), bread and cereals (2.5%), hotel services (2%) and meat (1.9%) with a combined impact of 2 percent on HIPC.

While a drop in prices was observed in fuels and lubricants for personal transport equipment (-4.4%) and the purchase of vehicles (-1.8%) with a joint impact of -0.4 percent in IHÇK.

Consumer prices are higher on average by 1.1% in December 2024 compared to December 2023, as a result of price increases: coffee, tea and cocoa (14.4%), oils and fats (9.3%), financial services (9.1%), mineral water, soft drinks, juices from fruits and vegetables (5.9%), newspapers, books and office materials (5%), goods and services for general maintenance of household goods (4,8%), glassware, cutlery and kitchen tools (4.5%), milk, cheese and eggs (3.8%), alcoholic beverages (3.5%), clothing (3%), meat (2.9%), personal care (2.7%), bread and cereals (2.6%), sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and sweets (2.5%), food products (1.8%), hotel services (1.8%), tools and home and garden equipment (1.6%), tobacco (1.4%), household appliances (1.2%) and vegetables (1%) with a combined impact of 2 percent on HICP.

While there was a decrease in solid fuels, firewood, pellets, etc. (-8.3%), fuels and lubricants for personal transport equipment (-5.7%), trees (-4.1%), vehicle purchase (-2.5%) and electricity (-2.2%) with a combined impact of - 0.9 percent in IHÇK.

Consumer prices are 0.7% higher in December 2024 compared to November 2024, as a result of price increases in flight tickets (25.4%), electricity (6.2%), vegetables (2.5%), coffee, tea and cocoa (2.2%) and milk, cheese and eggs (1.3%) with a combined impact of 0.8 percent on HIPC. While there was a decrease in trees (-2.5%) and alcoholic beverages (-1.2%) with a -0.1 percent impact on IHÇK.
