The Speaker of the Assembly of Albania, Elisa Spiropali declared that Kosovo will soon be one more flag at the UN headquarters and a star on the European flag. She said that official Tirana is worried that Kosovo has not yet gained the status of a candidate country in the European Union.

At the joint meeting of the two assemblies in Pristina, the speaker said that Albanians have shown unwavering determination in the journey towards modern society.

Also, she spoke about the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, for which she said that the signing of the binding legal agreement should result.

Further, she said that the agreement signed between the assemblies in 2022 has institutionalized cooperation.

Speaker Spiropali said that Kosovo is Albania's priority and that the success of one republic is the first necessary condition for the other republic as well.

However, she stated that official Tirana is concerned that Kosovo has not yet gained the status of a candidate country in the European Union.

"We are worried that Kosovo has not yet gained this status, which according to a general judgment it deserved earlier. We encourage the only five countries of the European Union that have not yet recognized it, to accept what can be done now, it is not good to leave it for later, because sooner or later it is clear that Kosovo will be another Flag many on the UN headquarters and one more star on the European flag. Albania has supported and will continue to support Kosovo's admission to the Council of Europe. We believe that the Republic of Kosovo has fulfilled all the conditions for membership and its acceptance as the 47th member of the Council of Europe is only a matter of time and it will happen soon". she concluded.

Kosovo's challenges, as she pointed out, are also Albania's, stemming from natural law and the constitution.
