The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has met with the Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs of the US State Department, James C. O'Brien, during his stay in Belgium.
Kurti and O'Brien have discussed the terrorist attack of November 29 in the Ibër-Lepenci canal in Varraghe of Zubin-Potoku.
According to the announcement, Kurti informed O'Brien that as long as Milan Radoiçiqi continues to be free in Serbia, he will constantly be a threat to Kosovo.
"The topic of discussion was bilateral relations and current developments of common interest, with an emphasis on the November 29 terrorist attack on the critical infrastructure of the Republic of Kosovo. The Prime Minister shared with Mr. O'Brien the details of the last terrorist attack on the critical infrastructure, namely in the Ibër-Lepenci canal, as well as the reaction of the state institutions for repairing the damage and ensuring the supply of essential services. The attack on November 29 was an attack on the civilian population, as through it there was a risk that more than half of the country's population would be left without electricity and without water, said the Prime Minister. While investigations into the latest attack are continuing, the prime minister pointed out that among the confiscations made in connection with the case, in addition to weapons and ammunition, 74 military emblems have been found, of which 20 belong to various Russian military units, in addition to Serbian", says the announcement of the Prime Minister's Office."The attack on Friday, November 29, was the third attack in three days that targeted the country's institutions. Previously, the targets were the Police Station in Zveçan and the building of the Assembly of the Municipality of Zveçan. Also, it constitutes the second large-scale attack on national security, after the paramilitary attack on September 24, 2023 in Banjska, which aimed to annex the north of the country and where a Kosovo Police sergeant was killed, and the most serious attack large and more serious towards the critical infrastructure, which was intended to interrupt or hinder essential services, such as electricity, water and telecommunications, and to disrupt social, civic, economic and institutions. During this meeting, the prime minister emphasized the importance of the arrest and extradition of the master criminal and master terrorist Millan Radoicic, for whom the Prosecutor's Office already has a 160-page indictment for him and his group, and who continues to pose a risk to the security of the country and of the region as long as he roams freely in Serbia and has the support of President Aleksandar Vuçiq and the state apparatus there", concludes the government communiqué.
Prime Minister Kurti thanked Assistant Secretary O'Brien and the United States of America for their support to the Republic of Kosovo in the investigation of the attack on the Ibër Lepenci canal and bringing those responsible to justice.
