After the explosion in the Ibër-Lepenci canal in the municipality of Zubin Potok, IKSHPK, respectively the Regional Center of Public Health in Mitrovica, in cooperation with the Regional Water Company "Mitrovica" have taken untreated water samples to perform the necessary analyses.

The Ministry of Health announces that according to the first analyses, carried out on the untreated water, the water that passes through the Ibër-Lepenci canal is currently not clean for drinking.

It is further stated that IKSHPK is in close cooperation with the Regional Water Company in Mitrovica and KRU.Prishtina”, will monitor the water from the Ibër Lepenci Canal and will perform all the necessary analyzes to ensure that the water, before being allowed for drinking, meets the permitted parameters.

"The Ministry of Health and IKSHPK assure the citizens that all the necessary measures are being taken so that the water used in the areas affected by the consequences of the explosion meets the permitted standards", the communiqué states.

A powerful explosion last night in Varaga, Zubin Potok, damaged the Ibër-Lepenc water channel.
