The number of whistleblowers in Kosovo has increased, but there is a lack of support and protection from the institutions.

This was said at the conference organized by the Initiative for Justice and Transparency for the protection of whistleblowers.

The manager of the "Whistleblower" project, from the non-governmental organization Initiative for Justice and Transparency, Bujar Ejupi said that from the monitoring done, it appears that there is zero support for whistleblowers from the institutions, to which he adds that the latter protect officials who have been reported by whistleblowers .

Ejupi called on the Ministry of Justice to make changes to the Law on the Protection of Whistleblowers.

Meanwhile, journalist Ardiana Thaçi said that whistleblowers, instead of being protected, are punished or punished by the institutions by leaving their jobs.

At the conference, it was emphasized that this year there were dozens of reports from whistleblowers.

A whistleblower is a person who discloses or reports information about illegal, unethical or fraudulent activities within an organization or institution.
