The Government of Kosovo has approved the Draft Law for the Mediterranean Games, which will be organized in Kosovo in 2030. This draft law foresees that the Mediterranean Games will be declared as a matter of special importance for the state of Kosovo.

The Deputy Minister of Sports, Daulina Osmani, said that this draft law is the result of a deep local and international legal analysis and that through it the Organizing Committee of these games is established.

"The drafting of this draft law is the result of a deep analysis process, including the review of the local legal framework and international practices of organizing similar multisport events. With the approval of this draft law, the Mediterranean Games are declared a matter of special interest for the Republic of Kosovo, reflecting the strategic importance that this project has for our country. This law establishes the Organizing Committee of the Mediterranean Games 2030, an independent structure with the status of a non-governmental organization foundation responsible for leading this activity", said Osmani.

The chairman of this committee will be the prime minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, who said that through the organization of this event, Kosovo will have modern sports infrastructure and will also be promoted in the international arena.

'Mediterranean Games'Prishtina 2030' is the biggest sports event in the country and region and through investments it will contribute directly to the improvement and advancement of the sports infrastructure, while through hospitality it will contribute to the international representation and promotion of our republic", emphasized Kurti.

Kosovo won the right to organize the Mediterranean Games at the General Assembly of the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games held in Greece in September last year.
