UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer warned that the war in Ukraine could "end today if Putin stops being aggressive".

In a series of interviews with BBC regional reporters, the prime minister was asked whether Britain was "at war" with Russia over Ukraine.

"No, we are not at war, but Ukraine certainly is, because Ukraine has been occupied by Russia, and that war has been going on for a little over 1000 days. There are 1000 days of aggression by Russia and 1000 days of sacrifice for Ukraine, and for this we have repeatedly said that we stand by Ukraine. We cannot let Putin win this war," Starmer said.
