The Government of Kosovo has launched the employment support scheme for able-bodied members of families benefiting from the social assistance reform pilot, subsidizing 70 percent of their salary for six months. Likewise, the same will not automatically leave the social scheme.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that this measure aims at equality and promoting employment.
The Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Hekuran Murati, said that through this scheme, the aim is to encourage the employment of members of families benefiting from social assistance. He also gave details of how much the wage subsidy will be for a worker for six months, as well as the other amount for the second six months.
The Director of the World Bank for Kosovo and North Macedonia, Massimiliano Paolucci, said that investing in families with social assistance is not only a moral responsibility, but also a sustainable strategy for each country.
