Çeku: Kosovo will become the main destination for film production

One of the items on the agenda at today's meeting of the Government of Kosovo was the approval of the draft regulation on the right of rebate in the Law on Cinematography, which was approved by the Government.

After the end of the Government meeting, at the media conference, the Minister of Culture, Hajrulla Çeku emphasized that the rebate will not only be for films and series, but also for animation, video clips and video games.

Asked about Kosovo's membership in UNESO, Çeku has stated that the issue of membership in the international organization is exclusive to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Meanwhile, the actors of the National Theater of Kosovo have declared that they will go on strike next week due to low wages.

Regarding this strike, the Minister of Culture, Çeku has emphasized that there is no disagreement between the actors and the ministry.

This year, the budget of the national theater will be around 700 thousand euros from the Ministry of Culture and the staff will be completed.

Meanwhile, about 20 million euros have been invested in the theater infrastructure of Kosovo and the total restoration over 7 million euros.

Ministers Çeku, also left a message for the actors of the National Theater of Kosovo, saying "not to deny the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo the right to see good performances in the National Theater".
