The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla, has accused the opposition parties that during the time they were in power they did not meet the Albanian diaspora, while now they are criticizing Prime Minister Albin Kurti for gatherings with the diaspora.
According to her, the former powers have filled the embassies with jaranas, brothers and sisters, who have stayed only with people who have done business, ignoring the diaspora.
During the plenary session of the Assembly of Kosovo, where the bill for the 2025 budget is being considered, she told the opposition that they will be seen in the campaign in January, but according to her, then there will be other words.
"Besides don't shout, calm down a bit because it's not good for your health. I understand you, I understand that I know you very well not only here in the Assembly, but also as part of hundreds of thousands of Albanians abroad. When you came to the embassies that you had relations with, with your brother, sister, you came with people you did business with, you paid 500 euros for books and so on. You did not have the courage to come and meet us, that you were part of the community there. I understand very well that you are surprised that the prime minister came to me voluntarily and met me in exile. Since he is not afraid to meet the expatriates, he comes and talks with them, answers questions, listens to criticism, and tries hard. Before you talk to me, it's good to listen to me, the meetings we held are LIVE. There is nothing in the tone or content of the campaign. The campaign comes in January. Yes, not only in Kosovo, but also in the diaspora, we will see each other in the campaign. However, then we will have other words in the campaign", she emphasized. However, PDK MP Ariana Musliu-Shoshi reacted to the Kosovo chief diplomat, who said that Kosovo diplomacy has failed in the international strengthening of Kosovo, new recognitions and membership in international organizations.
