The Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury of the United States of America (OFAC) imposed sanctions on Vladimir Perišić and the "Elpring" company, bringing it into connection, as explained, with the corrupt network of the president's patronage of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik and his son Igor Dodik.

"This network is directly connected to Igor Dodik, the son of Milorad Dodik. For years, Dodik used his official position to amass personal wealth through companies linked to him and Igor. This corruption has contributed to the undermining of public confidence in Bosnia and Herzegovina's state institutions and the rule of law," said the OFAC statement.

Perišić was the director of the company "Prointer ITSS", which was previously on the American blacklist, which is why the business of that company was closed. The "Elpring" company was created after the "Kaldera" company from Laktashi was hit by American sanctions.

OFAC stated that Dodik, as well as his associates and aides, continue to use their privileged position to undermine public confidence in the regional peace frameworks and institutions that have brought stability and security to BiH.

He also said the US remains committed to exposing the efforts of Dodik and his family to maintain their corrupt networks.

OFAC noted that today's action reinforces previous allegations against Dodik, exposing Igor Dodik's blatant efforts to evade U.S. sanctions and targeting individuals who enable family activities that impede democratic development in Republika Srpska."

"Dodik used his official position to direct RS government contracts to a network of private companies that he and Igor oversee. While Igor controls many of the companies in this network, he hides his personal connection to the companies by relying in different nominal owners and directors," the statement said.
