Climate change is negatively affecting the lives of children in Kosovo. This was stated in the publication of the UNICEF report on the state of climate for children (CLAC).

President Vjosa Osmani said that the environment and climate change contain three of the five main factors that endanger children's health.

She added that about 23 percent of children in Kosovo live at the national poverty line.

Likewise, Osmani emphasized that 10 percent of births in Kosovo are premature. According to her, one of the reasons for this is climate change.

Meanwhile, the head of UNICEF in Kosovo, Veronika Vashchenko, said that the impact of climate change in Kosovo is more affecting children from vulnerable communities, such as Roma, Egyptian and Ashkali.

Meanwhile, the UN coordinator for development, Arnhild Spence, said that Kosovo should engage more in the green agenda.

On the other hand, the acting executive director of the Environmental Protection Agency in Kosovo, Afrim Berisha, said that children in Kosovo are directly affected by high temperatures, as a result of climate change.
