The Government of Kosovo has done a lot of work for membership in the European Union, but we must accept that membership in the EU is not a sprint, but a marathon, said the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Luxembourg, Xavier Bettel, after the meeting he held with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla.

Bettel, who is visiting Kosovo for the 35 million project that will help Kosovo in the IT sector.

He also said that under the leadership of Donika Gërvalla, Kosovo has made progress to get closer to the EU.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Luxembourg, Xavier Bettel, said that commitment is needed to avoid conflicts.

Meanwhile, he added that Kosovo must work to get the place and respect it deserves.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla considered the visit of the Deputy Prime Minister of Luxembourg to Kosovo as a clear proof of the deep friendship between the two countries.

The chief diplomat, Gërvalla said that Luxembourg is a key partner for Kosovo's path towards the EU and NATO.

According to her, the cooperation memorandum to be signed between Kosovo and Luxembourg aims to promote investments and strengthen projects in the private sector.

The Deputy Prime Minister, Gërvalla said that last week at the UN Council she emphasized the great risk of destabilization from Serbia and Russia.

According to her, increased commitment is needed for security and stability in the region.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Luxembourg, Xavier Bettel, during his visit to Kosovo, will hold a series of meetings with the highest representatives of Kosovar institutions. Bettel, after the meeting with the chief diplomat of Kosovo, Donika Gërvalla, also met with the deputy prime minister, Besnik Bislmi and then with the president of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani.
