FC Prishtina was not licensed for European competitions for the 2023/24 edition even though it had won the Kosovo Cup.

Since that time, FC Prishtina had shown its doubts about the non-licensing, as it had become the first club qualified in European competitions to be banned from participating, while Dukagjini of Klina went instead, from the fourth position in the championship.

At the beginning of this week, the Sports Arbitration Council (CAS) through a decision confirmed that Pristina was wrongfully denied participation in European competitions.

The president of KAS, Eroll Salihu, tells KosovaPress that it is unreasonable for a club to be denied such a right.

"Firstly, it is unscrupulous that the players who have won the title or the second place to go to the European competitions are deprived of an administrative measure (the right to compete). An understanding was needed there to allow Pristina to compete where it belonged. But as if the Football Federation then licensed other clubs outside of any possible deadline", says Salihu first.

Salihu adds that the damages caused to the club in this case are very large.

The Football Federation contested the decision of KAS, but Salihu says that it is all-powerful and legally based.

But this "battle" between FFK and KAS can continue until the Court of Sports Arbitration in Lausanne.

Otherwise, Cf Prishtina after this decision of KAS, it has been announced that it will start legal procedures to request material compensation from the Football Federation for spoiling the image of the club.
