After last night's event in the Bosnian neighborhood in the north of Mitrovica, where it is suspected that a sticker was affixed to the memorial plaque of the martyr Avni Hajredini, as well as the puncture of the tires of some vehicles, the deputy director of the police for the northern region, Veton Elshani, declared.

He emphasized to KosovaPress that if such events are repeated in the future, the police will be even tougher in their reaction and will not tolerate any other action.

According to him, four people have been interviewed in connection with the case, while one person has been identified as a suspect for criminal damage or encouragement in a criminal offense.

On the other hand, the leader of the Serbian Survival Citizen Initiative, Aleksandar Arsenijević, at the same time the initiator of such stickers, has condemned the act of sticking the stickers on the memorial plaque of the martyr Hajredini.

He emphasized that all monuments should be protected by the citizens themselves without distinction, and this should be a clear order, not a reason for creating tensions.

Otherwise, unknown persons are suspected to have pasted a sticker on the memorial plaque of the martyr Avni Hajredini in the Bosnian Quarter on Thursday night. It is not known what the contents of the sticker were, as it was immediately removed by someone and when the police arrived at the scene, they found nothing. After that, about ten Albanian people gathered in this neighborhood as a sign of revolt, while the police also recorded punctured tires on two vehicles with Serbian license plates. Then the Serbian residents, who live in the surrounding buildings, also gathered there, in which case the intervention of the police was necessary, who convinced both parties to disperse.
