Over a thousand couples were divorced within eight months in Kosovo. According to the data of the Statistics Agency of Kosovo, only during the month of August, nearly 140 kites decided to part ways. While psychologists and sociologists are considering that the main cause of this growing phenomenon is infidelity between spouses. Meanwhile, the number of partners seeking psychological counseling before divorce has increased.

The President of the Association of Psychologists of Kosovo, Ilir Havolli, considers the fact of the increase in the number of divorce cases disturbing.

In addition, psychologist Havolli emphasizes that the number of divorced kites with children has also increased.

Sociologist Genc Xërxa, among other factors, also mentions infertility as a cause of divorce between partners in Kosovo.

Xërxa estimates that the awareness and emancipation of people has influenced the easier decision for separation.

Meanwhile, Gashi points out that the problem of housing, non-payment of alimony, stigmatization are among the main challenges faced by self-supporting parents.
