Kate Cassidy, who had been in Argentina with the former One Direction star until two days before his death, described Payne as the love of her life, whom she planned to marry next year.

Kate Cassidy, in an emotional post on Instagram, has commemorated the meeting with her boyfriend before the latter suddenly ended tragically.

"A few weeks ago, we sat outside on a beautiful evening manifesting our lives together. I keep your note close, even though you told me not to look at it. It said 'Kate and I are getting married in a year. /engaged and together forever 444'. I know we'll be together forever, but not the way we planned. You'll always be with me."

In the post where she shared photos of herself and the singer, the American social media influencer added:

“My heart is broken in ways I can't put into words. I wish you could see the great influence you have had on the world, even though it is so dark now. Your energy was contagious, lighting up any room you entered. None of this is true and I can't wrap my head around this new reality of not having you here. I'm trying to figure out how to live in a world without you around. Together, we became children again, always finding joy in the smallest things."

"Liam, you had the kindest spirit and the funniest spirit. I feel like I've lost the best part of me. I can't imagine a day without your laughter and love. You brought so much light into my life."

The couple was in a relationship for two years. Cassidy returned home from Argentina two days before the former One Direction star's death last Wednesday.

The former One Direction star died in Buenos Aires after falling from a hotel balcony. Toxicology testing on Liam Payne's death has not yet been completed, authorities in Argentina have said, amid reports of cocaine being found in his system.
