Kosovo is preparing to undergo an important transformation in the management of public property and property rights, with the adoption of a new law that aims to bring transparency and efficiency.

Within the Interministerial Committee for Land Administration and National Infrastructure for Spatial Information in Kosovo, Ardian Mehmeti from the Ministry of Justice said that the fact that the adoption of this new law as a substantial law is a challenge in itself because it requires a commitment large institutional in drafting and harmonizing the special laws that regulate this part with the law on public property from now on.

Mehmeti added that this will ensure transparency and general administration of public property in order to promote the preservation of the value of public property and its efficient use for the realization of economic, infrastructural goals and other goals foreseen in the public interest.

On the other hand, Korab Ahmetaj made a presentation from the USAID activity, Property Management.

Ahmetaj said that with this activity it is intended to improve the system of property rights in general in the country, thus increasing the formality and registration of properties in the land cadastral information system in Kosovo.

Meanwhile, Idriz Shala spoke about the role of geoinformation in REKOS 2024: Innovative Methods and Standards for it. He said that the population census project is one of the biggest, most complex and expensive projects for a country.

The inter-ministerial committee for the administration of land and national infrastructure for spatial information in Kosovo held its next meeting in which the importance of property rights was emphasized.
