The Secretary General of NATO, Mark Rutte, has declared today in Brussels that KFOR is in Kosovo and will continue to stay there.

In a press conference, he also mentioned the meeting of the Berlin Process this week in Berlin, as he added that this is evidence that "the Russians are trying to interfere in the Western Balkans, but we will not allow ourselves to be distracted, we will remain focused on this".

"KFOR forces are there and will stay there. Let's not be naive, Russia is as we know and we can see, and you can see, that it is seeking to undermine the democracies in the region that we really know. We have cyber and hybrid threats, they are absolutely there, and you deal with them and the disinformation is there. We know that they try to use internal weaknesses to foment divisions and thus make it more difficult, for example for Pristina and Belgrade to reach some kind of discussion and for all parts of the region to make sure that they prevent secessionist movement to advance. That's what Russia is always doing, trying to create difficulties and what we have to do is stay calm and focused and KFOR is doing that, NATO is doing that. I know that our partners in the Western Balkans are doing this," Rutte told Klankosova.tv.
