Today it has been five years since the citizens of Kosovo went to vote in the early parliamentary elections, where the Vetëvendosje Movement won its first victory.
According to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), 25 political subjects were involved in this election race, of which 20 political parties, 4 coalitions and an independent candidate, while 1.937.869 voters registered in the electoral roll had the right to vote.
In these elections, the Vetëvendosje Movement won, receiving 221,001 votes or 29% of the votes, leaving the other parties behind. However, LVV unable to form the government alone, it was forced to enter into a coalition with the Democratic League of Kosovo of Isa Mustafa.
The 2019 elections, which were classified as early parliamentary elections, were held after the resignation of Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj due to an invitation from the Special Court in The Hague.
