The former Minister of Education, Hykmete Bajrami, reported on Friday to the Parliamentary Investigative Committee on the process of subsidizing the purchase of textbooks and teaching aids.
Bajrami clashed with the deputy of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Mirlinda Tishukaj, after the latter said that Bajrami was invited in the capacity of the former Minister of Finance. She was asked about the cost allocated for the purchase of school books at the time when she held the position as Minister of Finance, but Bajrami emphasized that she does not have this data.
There was also a question from the deputy of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Agim Veliu, if there were any complaints regarding the supply of school books during the time when Bajrami was holding the post of Minister of Education.
Bajrami said that during this period, when there was also a pandemic, the only issue that was discussed was the lack of school material, including pencils and notebooks for students. She indicated that during the Covid-19 pandemic, there were restrictions and bookstores and other alternative places where school materials could be purchased were closed.
