The US State Department has just held a briefing where it said it arranged a flight from Beirut today to allow Americans to escape the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.

DASH spokesman Matt Miller said about 7 US citizens have registered with the government to receive information about leaving the country, although not all of them are seeking help to leave.

Miller said the US hopes to organize more flights in the coming days. The UK organized a flight for British nationals to leave Beirut on Wednesday, bound for Birmingham. /CNN
