The derby of the 10th round of the Colombian championship between Atletico Nacional and Atletico Junior has been stopped in the 55th minute after chaos in the stands of the stadium in Medellin.
Atletico led 2:0 and after the second goal, the away fans started attacking the spectators and the players.
In the footage circulating on X, one can see how a local player is stabbed, but fortunately escapes. After that, the Nacional fans rushed towards the away fans and then there was a big riot.
The fans attacked and threw knives at each other. Nacional fans threw some Junior fans into the lower stand and some of them, running away from the opponents, threw themselves into the lower stand, where they were then beaten by the home fans.
Soon, dozens of fans took to the pitch and some of the away fans had to be rescued from brutal beatings by their own players. A video shows two players pulling one of their fans away from a mob of angry hooligans, who were beating him to the ground.
According to the latest information, 21 people were injured, most of them with stab wounds.
