In the Main Center of Family Medicine in Fushë Kosovë, which provides services to over 64 residents, a pediatrician and a gynecologist are missing. Patients demand changes in administrative guidelines and complain about the high prices of services in private practices. On the other hand, the Ministry of Health says that the statute of the HCMC in Fushë Kosovë does not include these services, since there is no maternity in this center.
Due to the legislation in force, specializations that are in primary care continue to work until retirement, but they cannot be replaced by new staff.
Afrim Rashica, a resident of Fushë Kosova, also emphasizes the need for a pediatrician. He says that the increase in population in this municipality increases the demand for pediatric services.
Even Rashica points out that due to the lack of these services, the residents of Fushë Kosova must receive treatment at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo or in private clinics.
Shala points out that there are many requests from residents to receive services from pediatricians and gynecologists. He points out that together with the municipal assembly, they made a request to the Ministry of Health to change this instruction, but the latter did not approve it.
In addition, Shala says that they are also facing a lack of staff. He emphasizes the need to increase the number of doctors and nurses, as according to him, the demands for treatment at this center are great.
Meanwhile, according to article 15 of the administrative instruction in the framework of Primary Health Care, the health professionals who provide health services in the IKPsh are: Family Medicine specialist, Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Dentistry, Specialist in Pedodontics and preventive medicine, graduate pharmacist, Specialist in Clinical biochemistry, graduate nurse, graduate midwife, laboratory technician, pharmacy technician, radiologist and others.
In this article, it is stated that in the KKMF, where the maternity works, a Gynecologist and a Neonatologist or a Pediatrician are necessary, while it is emphasized that they continue to work in the KPSH, as a consultant to Family Physicians until retirement.
