On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the operation in Kosovo of the National Democratic Institute (NDI), the ambassador of the United States of America in Pristina, Jeffrey Hovenier, said that the NDI played a critical and essential role in the development and preservation of democracy in Kosovo.

Ambassador Hovenier emphasized that since the beginning of NDI, the USA has supported various programs of the Institute, while he called it another proof of his country's commitment to Kosovo.

Former US President Bill Clinton participated with a video address in the ceremony held to mark the 25th anniversary of the National Democratic Institute, where he emphasized that NDI has been with the people of Kosovo every step of the way, helping building transparent, accountable and inclusive democracy.

Meanwhile, the president of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, said that this mission is based on the vision of the former secretary of state, the late Medlin Albright, who, according to her, never gave up on Kosovo.

Vjosa Osmano emphasized that during these 25 years, many distinguished individuals have left their mark in Kosovo through the work of NDI.

Among them, according to her, there are many politicians, academics, activists who have helped promote democracy, strengthen institutions and improve the lives of our citizens.

One of the most prominent initiatives of NDI, the Women's Week stands out, which has promoted the empowerment of women in public, political, and wider life.
