On the occasion of the Day of Democracy, the panel discussion was held in the Assembly today, "Elections and technology: Impact on modern democracy", organized by D4D and NDI. It was said there that technology is essential in the organization of elections as it improves and facilitates services that are directly related to voters, political subjects and election observers.
The former director of NDI in Kosovo, Carlo Binda showed the benefits of using artificial intelligence in the electoral process, but added that to ensure that it does not undermine the foundations of democracy, adequate legal frameworks must be established.
The deputy of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Adnan Rrustemi, said that although digitization helps the electoral process, the latter must not depend entirely on technology.
Meanwhile, the head of deputies of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Ableard Tahiri, said that the digitization of the electoral administration was prioritized in the approved electoral reform.
The spokesperson of the Central Electoral Commission, Valmir Elezi, also participated in this table, who said that this institution has managed to digitize many of the electoral operations for the February 9 elections.
