The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, supported the petition for the Suicide Prevention Bill and called on the members of the Assembly to treat this civil society initiative as a priority at the beginning of the autumn session.

On World Suicide Prevention Day, civil society has gathered a petition with the support of over 13.000 citizens, to address this disturbing phenomenon, where there have been 11 suicides in just five months this year.

Calling the petition a right step, the first of our country has emphasized that only through joint efforts can the dangerous phenomenon of suicides be fought and that no one should feel alone.

"I invite all the deputies of the Republic to treat this initiative as a priority from the beginning of the autumn session. After the adoption of this law, the Republic of Kosovo will have a legal framework which treats this wound of our society and state and will offer the necessary support to all those who are facing this battle", Osmani wrote. on Facebook.
