Paraathlete Grevisti Bytyqi competed in the Paralympic Games, "Paris 2024", thus writing the first and most important chapter of Kosovo's history at the Paralympic Games - our first international appearance.

Only 200 meters after the start of the 1500-meter run, in the sport of athletics, in which Bytyqi competed, an incident occurred that caused our para-athlete to lose the pace of the race by being hit on the leg by another athlete. As a result, the athlete who caused the incident was disqualified.

But, despite this, Grevisti made a dignified performance, which has managed to make us proud.

The emotions were extraordinary as Grevisti became the first Kosovar to set foot in the "Stade de France" stadium, as a para-athlete, equal to others from all over the world.

The realization of this major journey for Kosovar parasport would be impossible without the leadership of the president of the Kosovo Paralympic Committee, Njomza Emini.

"The striker showed prudence and professionalism. This is just the beginning for him and many other para-athletes. We, as the Committee, are very proud of the presentation of Grevist and our delegation, as well as the contribution made to para-athletes and our country in Paris", Emini is quoted in the communique.

The Kosovo Paralympic Committee is grateful to all those who contributed to Kosovo's first appearance at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, as well as those who support Kosovar parasport.
