The Government of Kosovo has decided that the minimum wage should be 350 gross per month. This decision will come into effect on October 1, while Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that over 150 employees, mainly in the private sector, will be affected. In today's meeting, the government also approved the draft law on mandatory health care insurance.

The head of government said that the minimum wage of 264 euros, increased two years ago but entered into force days ago, is outdated and insufficient, therefore the value of the minimum wage will be 350 euros gross per month.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, said that the new minimum wage level will be 2 euros per regular working hour, which, when translated into full-time work, will be 350 euros gross per month.

With the approval of the draft law on mandatory health care insurance, Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that they are fulfilling government commitments.

On the other hand, the Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, said that through this draft law, the issue of collecting contributions from citizens for this health insurance fund is also regulated.
