A 25-year-old member of a criminal group, who in April of this year, tried to traffic through the port of Durrës, in Great Britain, 7 pistols and military ammunition, has been caught in Colombia.

The State Police announced today that, as a result of the information provided by the specialized structures of the State Police, about the location of an Albanian citizen, declared internationally wanted, as well as the exchange of this information, in real time, with the partners of Interpol Bogota, Colombia, enabled the capture and arrest in Colombia, with the purpose of extradition to Albania, of the AT citizen, 25 years old, born in Tropoja.

The Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, on 30.07.2024, assigned this citizen the security measure of "Prison arrest" for the criminal offense of "Trafficking in weapons and ammunition", committed within of the structured criminal group.

On 10.04.2023, the Police services found and seized in the port of Durrës, an arsenal of weapons hidden in a van (7 pistols, a large amount of combat ammunition and accessories for weapons), suspected to be trafficked to Britain Madhe, from the criminal group to which the AT citizen belonged

Interpol Tirana continues to cooperate with Interpol Bogota, in order to finalize the procedures for the extradition of this citizen to Albania.
