The Ministry of Health has decided to limit the working hours from August 14 to 17, as a result of the significant increase in temperatures in our country. However, the Government of Kosovo, namely the Ministry of Health and Finance have not yet planned to subsidize the businesses and workers affected by this decision of this ministry taken two days ago.

The business community estimates that the damages are significant for companies and workers, therefore they request the support of the Government. In addition, businesses fail to realize the planned projects. Even in the agricultural sector, farmers suffer losses as they fail to harvest their crops during this time restriction.

The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Health have not told KosovaPress if they will have any measures to support or subsidize businesses and farmers affected by the decision to limit the schedule.

The President of the Chamber of Commerce of Kosovo, Lulzim Rafuna, told KosovaPress that when central institutions take a measure for a restriction, they should also think about compensating businesses that do not cause damage either to businesses or to employees.

President Rafuna also said that in the other decision on restrictive measures in July, there were no subsidies.

He emphasizes that when the restrictive measures were taken, it was necessary to anticipate the facilitating measures for businesses.

The Ministry of Health has decided to limit the working hours from August 14 to 17.

This decision, according to the Ministry of Health, was made based on the recommendations of the IKSHPK, due to the significant increase in temperatures, in order to protect the health of citizens.

According to the Ministry of Health, during this period of extreme heat, it is recommended to change working hours to avoid working during the hottest hours of the day, from 11:00 to 16:00.

Also apply flexible working hours, which means allowing workers to start work earlier in the morning or work from home if possible.

Pregnant women to be released from work during peak heat hours 11:00 - 16:00, or to work from home, and other restrictions.
