The Police Inspectorate of Kosovo (IPK) has recommended to the Kosovo Police the suspension of a police lieutenant, respectively the Commander of the Skenderaj Police Station.

Through a press release, it is announced that the Police Inspectorate has started a disciplinary investigation under the suspicion that he, together with his subordinates, have committed serious disciplinary violations - "Serious discreditable behavior".

"IPK has received the first information about this case from the Kosovo Police and it is suspected that the police lieutenant together with some other police officers went to offer condolences to the family of a person who a few weeks ago had escaped from the Correctional Center in Smrekonica, where was serving a prison sentence for several criminal offences, (and recently the same person was killed in the territory of the Republic of Serbia by the police there)", says the IPK communique

The communique states that with these actions, it is suspected that the police lieutenant and his subordinates have committed a serious disciplinary violation - "Serious discreditable behavior" foreseen by the bylaws of the Kosovo Police.

Other investigative actions will be undertaken by IPK investigators based on the scope and legal authorizations of the Police Inspectorate.
