The leader of the Alternativa party, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, says that the regular parliamentary elections should be held in February 2025. According to her, the opposition's proposal that the elections be held on January 26 is not favorable for the citizens either, because the election campaign starts on the calendar of official holidays. She underlined that the disposition of the ruling coalition is that the elections be held on February 9 or 16.

In an interview with KosovaPress, Kusari-Lila also talks about the future cooperation with the Vetëvendosje Movement, the relations between Prime Minister Albin Kurti and President Vjosa Osmani, the incident of the country's leader at the Skopje airport, as well as the dialogue with Serbia.

"The month of January, for subjective reasons, is a very long month and there are holidays. In these regular elections, the campaign lasts thirty days. The very fact of starting the campaign a month before the election date should predetermine the orientation for an election date. If the elections are scheduled for January 26, the substantive problem is that the campaign should begin on December 24, because it is Christmas Eve. Then we enter the festive week until the New Year, including the Orthodox Christmas on January 7... As a representative of Alternative, I proposed two other dates at that meeting, February 9 or February 16. Both are related to the arguments that they will provide sufficient opportunities for a real campaign but also for the organization of the election process... It is public that they have not been supportive, not only the LVV, but none of the representatives of the coalition, including the parties not a majority, such as the Bosnian parties that were present there, that have declared that the most suitable date for elections is the month of February", said Kusari-Lila.

Kusari-Lila, who is currently the head of the Parliamentary Group of the Vetëvendosje Movement, says that she wants a greater contribution to the drafting of the future governing program with the party of Albin Kurti.

She adds that the discussions on the details of the cooperation with the LVV have not yet started, but emphasizes that they prefer an official coalition and not just inclusion in their electoral list.

Speaking about the distant clashes between President Osmani and Prime Minister Kurti, but also the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla, she says that the differences between them are not substantive, but only regarding the approach used for different processes, such as it was that of membership in the Council of Europe.

Meanwhile, regarding the incident of President Vjosa Osmani at the Skopje airport, she declares that the Macedonian authorities should not have behaved like that towards the country's leader. According to her, this case has reflected in Kosovo-North Macedonia relations.

In addition to these, Kusari-Lila is also critical of the European Union for the approach used in the dialogue. As she says, the EU is not reacting to Serbia's continued refusal to implement the agreement.

In relation to this, she emphasizes that it would be pointless if the disbursement of funds for the countries of the Western Balkans from the Growth Plan begins and remains outside of Kosovo.
