Tobacco products that are imported or produced for the Kosovo market must, from September 1, 2024, have color photographs or other illustrations and contain the health warnings defined by the new administrative instruction in order to protect public health and reduce the impact of use of tobacco.
The Ministry of Health says these warnings will appear on the packaging of all smoking tobacco products, smokeless tobacco products and new tobacco products.
The warnings presented are aimed at raising the knowledge of smokers about the health effects caused by the use of tobacco, ensuring the continuous effect of health warnings on tobacco packages, encouraging smoking cessation and discouraging the initiation or resumption of smoking.
This measure is important for improving public health and supporting tobacco control efforts at the national level, the communiqué states.
