The deputy director of the Kosovo Police for the northern region, Veton Elshani, stated that there is no reason for the Ibri Bridge to remain closed. In the meeting with citizens of North Mitrovica in the municipality facility, he said that there is no reason in terms of security for the bridge not to open.

He added that based on the practical construction of the road, "they don't understand the reason why the Ibri Bridge should continue to remain closed".

"Considering that we deal with the security aspect, we have not spoken anything more than what I often ask myself, as the Police we ask ourselves why this bridge is closed? It would be great to hear why this bridge should remain covered. Because from the security point of view there is no reason. If it is to insure, we had found the form and method to insure in different ways. However, considering the practical construction of the road, the bridge, Car Lazar Square, side streets, we are not knowing, we are not understanding why". declared Elshani in this meeting.

The discussion on inter-ethnic cooperation in the municipality of North Mitrovica is continuing in the facility of this municipality.
