The Kosovo police arrested a few minutes ago the leader of the Civic Initiative in the north of Mitrovica, Aleksandar Arsenijević.

The incident took place at the "Vëllezërit Miliq" square, near the main bridge over the Ibar in the north of Mitrovica.

In the video provided by KosovaPress, some Serbian citizens are seen whistling, who try to prevent the police from arresting Arsenijević, but they failed, while the policemen are seen bringing the latter to the south.

The reason for the arrest of the leader of the local Serbs is not known, but he is suspected to be known to the police even earlier for his provocative actions.

KosovaPress tried to contact the director of the police for the northern region, but he did not answer.

Whereas, later, the Kosovo Police announced today that some people of Serbian nationality had gathered in a location near the bridge in North Mitrovica and the same started to obstruct the workers who were contracted and engaged by the competent authority, to clean some graffiti with nationalist inscriptions, which create incitement and hatred such as "severna brigada" etc. which were in the square near the bridge.
