The deadline for converting drivers' licenses from those issued by illegal Serbian institutions to official drivers' licenses of the Republic of Kosovo has been extended until August 23.

The news was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Jelal Sveçla.

Sveçla, wrote that this happened due to the demands of citizens from the ranks of the Serbian community.

"Based on the numerous requests of citizens for the application of the equipment with driver's licenses of the Republic of Kosovo, of which only yesterday we had 273, as well as the request for the extension of the deadline for the application which, according to our decision, ends tomorrow, I have taken into consideration those with in which case the deadline for conversion will be extended until August 23, 2024. After this date, for all those who do not convert drivers' licenses, action will be taken according to the relevant legislation in force", wrote Minister Xelal Sveçla on Facebook.

According to him, until now 5588 citizens from the ranks of the Serbian community have applied for the conversion of driver's licenses from those issued by illegal Serbian institutions to official drivers' licenses of the Republic of Kosovo.

Jalal Sveçla The process, which has been enabled in all centers of the Civil Registration Agency in the Republic of Kosovo, has continued without a single incident.
