The mound of Kamenica has become one of the most visited destinations in the city of Korça.

The Korçë Regional Directorate of Cultural Heritage thanked all local and foreign tourists who have chosen to visit the Kamenica Mound. They have been numerous since the opening of this tourist season.

The mound of Kamenica is located about 15 km from Korca and is considered one of the most important archaeological sites in the Balkans.

Graves, bone skeletons, archaeological objects such as ceramics, weapons, bronze ornaments, iron, silver, gold, amber and bones have been found in this prehistoric burial site. This mound is the largest found not only in Albania, but also in the Balkans. Its earliest graves belong to the Late Bronze Age around the 12th century BC
This mound stopped functioning around the middle of the 700th century BC, so it has a history of almost XNUMX years./ATSH/
