Ksamil in Albania - the new under-the-radar destination - has been described by travel experts as a European paradise similar to the Maldives, writes Max Channon in an article published in the British daily "Daily Express".

The beautiful seaside village with white sand and turquoise waters – is fast gaining a reputation as one of the top summer holiday destinations – a place most Brits never thought they'd visit!

Until a few years ago - Ksamil in Albania was not under the radar of most tourists - when it came to a summer vacation destination.

However, travel experts have ranked Albania as a hidden European paradise and a budget destination – similar to the Maldives.

Holidays in Ksamil offer a peaceful escape in the embrace of nature.

Ksamil is known for its crystal clear turquoise waters, sandy beaches and secluded islands.

"From relaxing in the sun to enjoying the freshest seafood, Ksamil holidays encapsulate the essence of a Mediterranean paradise," writes lastminute.com.

Ksamil is a beach destination - considered the paradise of southern Albania.

The Albanian Riviera has many beautiful beaches. But – this place gives you the feeling of the beaches in Bora Bora.

Unlike other Mediterranean beaches, Ksamil is still a quiet and secluded place – with crystal clear and turquoise waters.

The seaside village offers white sand and fantastic views of the Ionian coast.

Furthermore, the beach is surrounded by stunning mountain scenery.

Hotel prices in Ksamil range from 25-45 euros – depending on the 3 or 4 star hotels you choose – or the month you visit.

Albania is not expensive to visit. Compared to other European countries, Albania is an inexpensive holiday destination.

Average daily travel costs are 42 euros per person per day.

A double room in a hotel costs 25-40 euros. A cheap meal is 2-4 euros – while in a local restaurant it costs 4-10 euros.

Albanian food is similar to Greek, Turkish and Italian food.

There are many places that offer Greek salad, grilled meats and gyoros.

Everywhere in Albania you can see Italian-style restaurants, shops and supermarkets. Desserts such as baklava and Turkish coffee are also available.

Travel blogger Fleming Ware wrote on her website "wareontheglobe" - that the beaches of Ksamil were wonderful.

She praised the cheap prices, good food, friendly people and great weather. /ATSH/
