The most controversial boxer of the Paris 2024 Olympics stood her ground today amid a vicious "hate campaign" and took another giant step towards her gold medal dream.

Imane Khelif, 25 years old, defeated the Hungarian Anna Luca Hamori, after spending the last 48 hours, since her first match in Paris, at the center of claims that she was actually a man, KosovaPress reports.

She managed to stay focused on boxing and showed her determination to challenge her opponents by showing her class and power in the ring by winning her second fight in Paris.

However, after a tense match against the Hungarian combined with a week full of pressure and heated discussions online, the boxer broke down in tears as she was embraced by her team.

She kept a steely cool under the most extraordinary focus on any athlete in Paris, likely to be hailed by Olympic bosses who have supported her throughout the scandal.
