The deputy of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Xhavit Haliti, says that each of the four dates for the regular parliamentary elections should be acceptable to the political parties, since the difference in time is very small.

According to him, since there is no consensus of the political parties to hold early elections in the fall, then January 26, February 2, February 9 or February 16 of 2025 should be suitable. He emphasizes that the PDK will aim to come out first in the elections, but in the opposite case they will remain in the opposition and will not be involved in post-election coalitions.

In an interview for KosovaPress, Haliti also talks about the clashes between heads of institutions and the incident of President Vjosa Osmani at the Skopje airport.

"As long as Vetëvendosja did not participate, I do not know if they will agree on the dates. He was able to announce these dates publicly and properly. They agreed on a date and I think it's okay. The problem and the idea was to go to the elections earlier, at least in the fall. This is because the weather is better and January and February are colder months and I don't know how suitable it will be. But what I would like to say in this regard is that the date of the elections should be regulated by the Constitution. The date of the elections should coincide with the months that are most convenient for the voters and the political parties to have time to prepare... The dates do not make any difference, except to say that we gave the opposition four options to choose from . Now they can say that we let the opposition choose the date, and eventually, as I know how they are working, they can declare a completely different date", Haliti emphasizes.

He sees the possibility of early elections as difficult, while underlining that the idea of dissolving the Assembly is politically wrong.

As for post-election coalitions and possible cooperation with the Vetëvendosje Movement, Haliti says that the PDK aims to come first in the elections, otherwise it should stay in the opposition.

In addition to these, Haliti, speaking about the non-participation of Prime Minister Albin Kurti in the meeting invited by President Osmani for the political parties, says that it seems that their differences are more in terms of foreign policy and relations with allies.

However, according to him, President Osmani should understand her role and powers, which, as she says, is a notary public.

Haliti also commented on the incident with President Osmani at the Skopje airport, which he calls absurd.
