The security of the Skopje Airport tried to take the personal phone of the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osman, until he tried to push her physically, the president's media adviser, Bekim Kupina, confirmed for KosovaPress.
He announced that contrary to international practices and the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, the Skopje Airport security tried to take the president's personal phone, but the latter allowed such a thing as it would be a serious violation .He emphasized that the arrogant and violent behavior of the Skopje Airport official is unprecedented and has never happened in any trip of President Osmani anywhere in the world, including in non-recognizing countries.
"It is clear that in the case in question there was a tendency to provoke the delegation of the Republic of Kosovo and to cause an incident", said Kupina."It is worth noting that after the President entered the plane, the Skopje Airport did not allow the commercial plane to take off for more than an hour, under the pretext that the Slovenian state is not allowing the departure, because it would not be ready for landing. The President's Cabinet contacted the Slovenian side, who informed us that such a thing is absolutely not true and that the plane would be able to land at the scheduled time", continued Kupina.
The presidency considers any attack and irregular treatment contrary to international conventions of high state officials as an attack on the state of Kosovo itself.
