The Kosovo police today arrested the person with the initials BJ (53) on suspicion of having fired a firearm during a family party in Gjilan.

An ES Ecol 9 mm caliber weapon and 11 9 mm caliber cartridges were confiscated from the suspect in this case.

After the interview in the presence of the defense lawyer, by order of the State Prosecutor, the suspect was detained for 48 hours and criminal charges will be filed for the criminal offenses of unauthorized ownership, control or possession of weapons and causing general danger.

The regional police directorate in Gjilan appealed to citizens not to use firearms in family celebrations, but for a safe and peaceful environment to celebrate with their hearts and not with guns.
